Parental controls for Telegram

Telegram is open at one in the morning, the child will not get up, and the same conversation repeats. Gardion gives the messenger a daily limit and hours when it does not launch: lessons, dinner, sleep. We do not open the messages and we do not forward them to a parent. We count minutes and manage access — that is enough.

What Telegram does not have

No child mode, no parent panel

Telegram has no child accounts and no parental settings. Its terms mention age only: in the EU, the United Kingdom and Australia you must be at least 18 to sign up. No separate mode for a child, no limit on messaging, no parent panel.

So the boundary is set by the device. On Android and on a computer that is Gardion: one rule, and the app obeys it on both platforms.

What Gardion does

What a parent sets

We count time and manage access. The content of messages stays between the child and whoever they are talking to.

  • A daily limit

Half an hour, an hour, whatever you decide. When the minutes run out, the app does not open until tomorrow.

  • Hours when it is closed

Lessons, dinner, sleep. The schedule works separately from the limit, so at one in the morning there is no messaging even with minutes left.

  • A report

How many minutes went to Telegram today and this week — numbers instead of impressions.

  • A request for more time

The child asks for extra minutes from their own app, and a parent answers from their phone.

Questions parents ask

Do you read the messages?

No. We do not collect the content of messages and we do not show it to a parent. The report shows time only.

What if the child deletes Telegram and installs it again?

The limit belongs to the app, not to the installation: reinstalling does not remove the rule.

Does it work on a computer?

Yes. On Windows the desktop Telegram is limited, on Android the mobile one, and the setting is shared.

Do I have to block the messenger completely?

No. You can leave free hours and close the night only, if daytime messaging is not a problem.

On the phone this is part of control on Android; on the computer — control on Windows. Everything we can limit is on one page.
