How to remove Kaspersky Safe Kids from a child’s phone

Kaspersky Safe Kids protects itself: a normal uninstall won’t work, because removal runs from inside the app and needs your My Kaspersky password. Below are the exact steps from Kaspersky’s own help.

Why the normal uninstall does nothing

Kaspersky Safe Kids makes itself a device administrator, so you can’t just drag the icon to the bin. The correct way is from inside the app, with the “Remove application” option and the parent’s password — the app then drops its own protection.

Remove it in four steps

    Open the app on the child’s phone

    Kaspersky Safe Kids is removed from inside the app itself, not by dragging the icon to the bin.

    Tap “Remove application”

    The option is inside the Kaspersky Safe Kids app on the child’s device.

    Enter your My Kaspersky login and password

    This is the parent account the control is tied to. Without it the app won’t uninstall — that’s part of the protection.

    Tap “Delete application”

    The app removes its own protection and uninstalls from the phone.

Only need to pause it? In the app on the child’s phone, choose “Pause protection”, enter your My Kaspersky details, pick a period (or “Forever”) and tap “Pause protection”.

The Uninstall button is greyed out; the app won’t remove the normal way.

I forgot my My Kaspersky password.

Without the parent password the built-in removal won’t run — that’s by design. Recover access at my.kaspersky.com, then remove the app. If the account is unavailable, the device-administrator role is removed manually in Android settings (Settings → Security → Device admin apps), after which the app can be uninstalled.

I only want to pause the control, not remove it.

The app on the child’s phone has a “Pause protection” option: enter your My Kaspersky details, choose a period (or “Forever”) and tap “Pause protection”.
